I've decided it's time to take control of this blog again. My posting has been sporadic at best, and non-existent for long periods of time.
When I gave this some thought I realised that one of the reasons for this is the format I chose to begin with. I wanted to write expansive, insightful and useful reviews of all of the music I bought. Well a couple of things became apparent on that front:
1. I'm not a great a music journalist, so writing the posts took a very long time, and left me feeling faintly dissatisfied that they weren't as wonderful as the music I was writing about
2. I'm buying a lot of music these days thanks to eMusic.com and iTunes
3. I'm a lot more busy than I thought!
So, I've come up with a plan to make the blog more fun for me to write and more fun for you to read (hopefully).
1. Not just music. I have a pretty varied set of interests, and I intend to post about all of them. I'll still cover music and music-related stuff as that is a big part of what I am about, but also expect posts on web-services, advertising, fun things to do at the weekend and anything else that takes my fancy.
2. Shorter posts. More Often. I'm not a world class writer, so I'm going to focus on making my point concisely and blogging a bit more regularly. I'm going to target three posts a week to begin with and if I do okay at that, I'll try and ramp up.
3. More Links! The web is a very interesting place. There are loads of blogs, news articles and web-sites. I'll use my posts to provide lots of pointers to them. I've also promoted my Google Reader widget in the right hand navigation, so that even if I haven't written a post there should be something here for you to peruse.
Anyway, I hope you like the new direction, and if you do I hope you'll contribute too with the odd comment.
